Make Music Day

Join us for Make Music Day on Sunday, June 21, 2026! Make Music Muskogee is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a Sunday Funday at Honor Heights Park.

Our main event for Make Music Day in Muskogee 2026 will be a full day of music making and participatory musical events at the North Shelter, next to the Butterfly Papilion at Honor Heights Park. We'll be celebrating the first day of summer! June 21 is also National Day of the Gong, so a special "Bang a Gong/Name That Gong (Song)" event is planned.

Make Music Day in Muskogee is a city-wide event, part of a worldwide celebration of music on the first day of summer. Muskogee was the first Make Music City in Oklahoma!

How to Participate:

Musicians of all ages, cultures, genres, and skill levels are invited to sign up to perform!

Businesses of all types (indoor or outdoor—auto dealers, banks, churches, gift shops, libraries, museums, nursing homes, performance venues, restaurants, stores of all kinds, etc.) are invited to sign up to host musicians at your location!

Registration is open through Saturday, June 20, 2026, or until all performance slots are filled.

First Day of Summer & National Day of the Gong Celebration

We will have a full day of music making and musical participatory events at the North Shelter next to the Butterfly Papilion at Honor Heights Park to celebrate the first day of summer on Sunday, June 21!  We discovered recently that June 21 is also National Day of the Gong, so a special event in the works is a “Bang a Gong/Name That Gong (Song)” contest and musical gong circle/short parade event at the park.
