Firefly Survey at Lake Eufaula State Park

Join us for a magical evening learning about Oklahoma’s glowing insects with Dr. Emily Geest from the Oklahoma City Zoo.

Help observe, photograph, and record firefly activity to support conservation research. This family-friendly program offers a hands-on look at firefly behavior, flash patterns, and how we can protect native insect populations.

Our Nature Center kiddos have been busy exploring the magic of Oklahoma wildlife this week!
Our August owl conservation crew jumped right in and learning all about our native owls, how we can protect them, and showing even more excitement by creating their very own owl crafts. It’s amazing to see young visitors discovering that you’re never too young to care about conservation.
We also had some absolute cuties stop by to learn about fireflies and the upcoming Firefly Survey on July 18th. They enjoyed a fun educational program and made the sweetest firefly sun catcher crafts to take home.
Moments like these remind us why we love what we do curious minds, creative hands, and a whole lot of nature‑center joy.
