 hakvli Tok: What is the Choctaw Irish Connection?' This inspiring exhibit 
 highlights the long-standing friendship and cultural ties between the Choc
 taw and Irish peoples. The story of the Choctaw Nation's donation to Irela
 nd during the Great Famine of 1847 has been shared and celebrated by many\
 , especially in recent years\, but the legacy that act left extends far be
 yond a single moment in time. The museum is housed within the historic Cho
 ctaw Capitol Building\, originally constructed in 1884. Tvshkahomma\, tran
 slated as 'red warrior' in the Choctaw language\, is the name given to the
  structure and the surrounding Capitol grounds. The interior houses a gift
  shop as well as rooms for exhibits and events. The grounds surrounding th
 e Museum feature sculptures\, outdoor exhibits\, and walking paths with ed
 ucational displays that highlight various cultural elements of Choctaw his
